Is therapy for everyone?
Therapy can be beneficial for anyone. Life presents challenges to everyone, and having professional support to navigate these difficulties can be invaluable. A therapist can help you process life events in a healthy and constructive manner. How soon may I get an appointment?
Our clinic strives to accommodate patients promptly. In most cases, we can schedule an appointment within 48 hours of your initial contact, depending on your specific preferences and availability. What insurance is accepted at the clinic?
We accept a wide range of insurance providers, including Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, HealthPartners, Medica, United Health Care, and UCare. Additionally, we work with several smaller third-party insurance plans. Please contact us for specific details about your insurance coverage. How do I fill out paperwork?
We offer multiple options for completing your paperwork. You'll receive a link to our provider portal where you can access and complete all necessary forms online. Alternatively, you can visit our clinic to fill out the paperwork in person. Please note that intake forms must be completed either on paper or using a computer, laptop, or tablet, as our software isn't compatible with mobile phones. If you prefer paper forms, please arrive 30 minutes early for your first appointment or visit our office beforehand. Why is there so much paperwork?
The extensive paperwork serves an important purpose. Your written descriptions of your current situation and past experiences allow your therapist to prepare effectively for your session. This preparation enables more productive use of your appointment time, focusing on addressing your present concerns rather than gathering background information.Does therapy actually work?
Research consistently demonstrates the effectiveness of therapy. Numerous studies over decades support its efficacy in improving mental health. The success of therapy often correlates with a patient's motivation to engage in the process and make life changes. While various evidence-based therapeutic approaches exist, research indicates that the quality of the therapeutic relationship between patient and therapist is a crucial factor in successful outcomes. What do I do if I am in crisis?
In case of a crisis, our clinic provides 24-hour support through an answering service. You can reach this service by calling our main number and following the prompts. The answering service will then contact your therapist on your behalf to address your urgent needs. What if I don't like my therapist?
Your comfort with your therapist is essential for effective treatment. If you feel that your current therapist isn't a good fit, they will assist you in transferring your care to another professional within our practice. We prioritize your comfort and the quality of your therapeutic experience. If my child needs therapy, may I talk with the therapist alone?
We understand that parents may need to speak privately with their child's therapist. For children over 10 years old, with your permission, they may wait in our reception area while you have a confidential conversation with the therapist. For safety reasons, we require that children under 10 be supervised at all times.Do I have to come into the office for my appointment?
No! We offer telehealth, telephone, and in office appointments. Please let the intake coordinator and your therapist know your preference.
